About Dr. Saad Saad
Dr. Saad Saad is a pediatric surgeon who has experience in the medical field for over 40 years. His areas of specialization are in pediatric surgery and general surgery where he is affiliated with several hospitals such as the Monmouth Medical Center among others. He is a kind doctor who has conducted free medical trips to Jerusalem to perform complex surgeries to children from poor backgrounds. Dr. Saad Saad graduated from Cairo University in Egypt where he received a Medical Degree with Honors 47 years ago.
Dr. Saad’s inspiration of becoming a medic was prompted back in 1965 when he was in high school during one hot summer in Kuwait. The doctor further explains that the summers in Kuwait would have temperatures rise to over 110 degrees F. This made him change his preference which had previously been in the engineering field to being a surgeon as he would work in an air-conditioned room. Dr. Saad was born in Palestine and raised among his seven siblings in Kuwait where one became a teacher; three opted to be surgeons while the other four chose the engineering career.
Dr. Saad’s Service in the Middle East
In 1964, when Dr. Saad was in his third year, he travelled to Lebanon where he did the ECFMG exams that saw him move to the U.S for additional training in the medical field. The doctor also went to England where he did his internship before moving to the United States. Dr. Saad then completed his residency in pediatric surgery under the US Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery. Moreover, the doctor worked at the K Hovnanian Children’s Hospital and served as the medical director and surgeon in chief. Nonetheless, the doctor’s dedication to his work saw him move to the Middle East in the 1980s to serve as the Saudi Royal Family pediatric surgeon.
The rare opportunity to work in Saudi Arabia was due to his fluency in English and Arabic besides being a member of the US Board Certified Pediatric Surgeon. He moved to Saudi Arabia in 1985 and worked for four and half years. The doctor found the opportunity to work with the royal family fascinating while also sharing his knowledge in the medical field to the surgical club. Also, Dr. Saad who stayed at Riyadh served at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital where he performed many surgeries that included surgery to his youngest patient of a baby that had an Aneurysm. The doctor further served children from needy families as the King Faisal Specialist Hospital also had a program of performing free pediatric surgeries. Dr. Saad who is very passionate about his work saw it as an opportunity to give back as he believes that no patient should ever be discriminated against. Again, his engineering tactics saw him patent two surgical procedures that included the Catheter and Suction Endoscope Inventions. In addition, the Dr. Saad spearheaded on starting a surgical residency program that facilitated the training for medical students in Saudi Arabia.
